Spectrum Vending LLC opened in September 2021, steaming from a hobby. Our founder Joshua Hancock acquired a couple of soda vending machines from circa 1960s as novelty items for his backyard. Around this same time, Joshua was looking for an opportunity for his two sons’s on the autism spectrum to maintain employment. Putting one interest with another an idea was born!
Being on the autism spectrum can make social situations difficult and can cause confusion or distraction making employment difficult due to ambiguous situations or vague instructions to follow. Without understanding and guidance from one’s management structure, staying employed can be difficult for an individual on the autism spectrum.
Joshua started Spectrum Vending LLC to provide his sons with a routine job with clear instructions and meaningful work that will allow them to contribute to society in a positive way and help increase their social skills in an appropriate and encouraging way!
Looking to the future: It’s our hope that Spectrum Vending LLC eventually grows to allow us to hire more highly functional individuals that are on the autism spectrum or with special needs. It’s our goal to enhance the future by enabling employment for those that struggle because of a special needs situation.
